AFGHANISTAN: OBAMA,"YOU ARE POWERLESS"

Many of us knew that President Obama would be a poor leader when it came down to prosecuting The War On Terror. It was echoed throughout the presidential campaigns last year. Our enemies prayers were answered when he was elected. Seeking to establish himself as a President devoted to strong national security and protecting America he gave an interview with Katie Couric about his plans to increase the military pressure in Afghanistan and bring about the capture or destruction of Osama Bin Laden. I have posted a short taped section here to refresh your memory if needed. (Video by CBS six
days before inauguration)

The President suffered so much criticism from the left earlier this year when he announced a troop increase for Afghanistan that he is now compelled to take action on issues regarding the war and national security in a matter that will appease the liberal voices of his party. He is desperately seeking a way to “cut and run.”

It started with closing Guantanamo, continued by allowing the CIA investigations to needlessly proceed. Now new rules are in place for interrogation of captured combatants, and when a new call from the military comes for more manpower and equipment The Commander In Chief is hesitant. As if to say, maybe right now isn't a good time...I can't afford to stir up any more discontent with my leftist supporters. More and more every day the White House keeps referring to this as a situation they inherited. It was left to us by the Bush Administration.

That's a poor excuse and one our men and women in Afghanistan don't need t hear. Are you emboldening our enemies? Our public enemy number one, Osama Bin Laden, came out of his hole long enough to send you a greeting; “You are powerless against us!” and he states “you are not capable of fighting us for years.” Mr. President, you're people can write it off as harmless propaganda but our enemies gather strength from such messages and they are good at sensing weakness. How loud do you think the message; “I will not support additional war funding.” resonated in Bin Laden's cave. That came directly from your House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi. Eight months ago you told the American people you were committed and now you just seem befuddled and confused.

Your priorities are clearly on domestic policy and not on the needs of your military. You've sent them into battle and now you're in it as much as the past administration. You must commit and stay with them, give them what they need to succeed , or get out, you suffer the consequences either way. That's what being a leader is all about. But one thing is clear. You cannot hesitate and leave our men and women over there shifting in the wind while you play party politics at home, waiting for the next approval poll.
