APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED!

South façade of the White House, the executive...Image via Wikipedia
The first thing President Obama should address at his White House security summit is that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab and Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan didn't give a damn about his apologetic overtures to the Muslim world and his efforts toward building a meaningful dialogue to address grievances in the extremist camps.

Someone please, throw a cold bucket of ice water on these guys attending the meeting and wake them up! Terrorists don't care about the President's personal persona, his speeches, his commitment to close Gitmo. They could care less about Khalid Sheikh Mohammed getting a civilian trial in New York, or that future extremists when caught will be given fair trials in the U.S.courts of law. They only want one thing...death to infidels and that pretty much includes everyone on this earth except them. They are at war and America is their number one target. After a year in office Obama has proved his critics right. He is weak beyond doubt on national security and the majority of Americans feel less secure when it comes to him being able to keep this country safe from terrorist attacks. His liberal approach to global terrorism has failed miserably and without major adjustments in attitude and thinking, without recognizing the problem for what it is, (a war), there will be more attempts at home and abroad.

The President maintains complete denial of any concept of a War On Terror, refusing to label terrorists for what they are.  Obama referred to Abdulmutallab as an "isolated extremist" in his initial comment on the incident, the exact terminology used when referring to Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the terrorist in the Fort Hood shootings.  Those statements alone show that those advising the President as well as the President himself don't have a clue to what their up against in this battle. The fact is, both were connected to al Qaeda and terrorist organizations. Interesting that both men had ties to the radical Yemeni cleric Anwar al-Awlaki. Its should be plain to Obama that this cleric doesn't think much of his apology either.

At the end of this security summit don't expect to see terrorists turned over to the military for interrogation, or Gitmo back in operation. All captured combatants will still be Mirandized and afforded lawyers to inform them of their rights and protect their interests. At the end of the day we will hear of the President being forceful in his demand that agencies charged with security start sharing information and work closely together, a few may be called on the carpet but strictly for show, something for Robert Gibbs to take back to the press. There may even be a new czarship created to oversee everything Homeland Security oversees. Just so we all know "the system worked exactly as planned." Right, and in the meantime, somewhere an "isolated extremist" is out there planning his next move. Apology not accepted.
