COAL INDUSTRY UNDER ASSULT BY OBAMA!

Having set the wheels in motion to destroy the health insurance industry the Obama administration on Friday turned its sights on the coal industry.  The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced it was taking steps to stop a "mountaintop" coal mine operation in West Virginia despite the fact that the company has all the necessary federal permits to allow for operation.  Under Obama the EPA has declared war against the coal industry.  Under federal law the EPA has always had the authority to veto projects that show cause of an "unacceptable adverse impact" and has used that power 12 times in the past 32 years but never on a company that is operating with a valid federal permit.

The Obama administration began looking into the operation after environmental groups filed lawsuits and complained to the EPA.  They claim that the mining operation will destroy 7 miles of stream and cause harm to aquatic wildlife including one of the largest concentrations of salamanders in the world.  Arch Coal, the mines owner, has said that it was disappointed with the EPA decision and intends to vigorously defend their permit by all legal means.

This is pure "Obamunism" in operation. A company has invested all the money, man hours and legal work to produce the documents and studies required to secure a federal mine permit and the the Obama EPA is ready to deny them their legal right to conduct business because the are worried about salamanders. Never mind about all the families that depend upon the work that mine creates.  Salamanders have rights too!

This EPA couldn't give a damn about those salamanders. They want to shut down coal mining period.  The salamanders provide the excuse.  This is another head on assault by the liberals in power to do as much harm to industry as possible without regard to how it can effect the lives of those who depend on it or what impact it will have on our economy.  The pattern is becoming all too familiar. Just as they demonized the health insurance industry in the health care debate, to advance environmental legislation they will do the same to the coal and oil industry. This type of strong arm tactic by the government is clearly an abuse of power and a tremendous waste of taxpayer dollars to fight a battle in the nations court system.  Having obtained the legal permit, they satisfied the government conditions for the operation but true to his socialist ideology, Obama doesn't think twice about taking anything away from industry if it stands in the way of achieving his goals, even if it leads to higher unemployment.  In Obama's world the salamander will always win.

CONSERVATIVE VS. LIBERAL

Received this e-mail today and thought I would pass it along.

If a conservative doesn't like guns, they don’t buy one.

If a liberal doesn't like guns, they want all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, they don’t eat meat.

If a liberal is a vegetarian, they want all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative is homosexual, they quietly lead their life.

If a liberal is homosexual, they demand legislated respect.

If a conservative is down-and-out, they think about how to better their situation.

A liberal wonders who is going to take care of them.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, they switch channels.

Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, they don't go to church.

A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.
(Unless it's a foreign religion like, Islam!)

If a conservative decides they need health care, they go about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.

A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for it.

If a conservative reads this, they'll forward it so that friends can have a good laugh (or cry).

A liberal will delete it because they are "offended".

A heart felt thanks to LPBD for forwarding this to me.

THE DEATH OF AMERICA

FROM THE PRESIDENT:

"We proved that this government, a government of the people and by the people, still works for the people," Obama said. "I know this wasn't an easy vote for a lot of people, but it was the right vote."

Excuse me Mr. President, you are wrong, very wrong. It is not the right vote. You proved that a government of the people and by the people means very little to a party in power that wishes to impose their ideology upon an electorate that has clearly spoken out in the majority against your agenda. How can you say government still works for the people when you have so blatantly run rough-shod over the process and ignored what the population is saying?  You have lied, cheated, bribed, and made a complete mockery of the principles and foundations this country was built upon. You and your party have voted to enact law for the land that creates new entitlements, imposes new taxes, adds to the role of big government, and hacks away at individual freedoms. Your vision for a socialist style of government is being put into play and after yesterday there is sure to be more that follows.

John Boehner, House Minority Leader, summed it up best. "Can you go home and tell your senior citizens that these cuts in Medicare will not limit their access to doctors or further weaken the program instead of strengthening it? No, you can not," Boehner said to shouts of support from his GOP caucus. "And look at how this bill was written. Can you say it was done openly, with transparency and accountability without backroom deals struck behind closed doors, hidden from the people? Hell, no you can't."

Obama envisions the death of America as we now know it. His change for the country is not one of the right to opportunity but rather the right to entitlement. Under the Obama doctrine, the government can giveth and the government can taketh away.  So it gives the country universal health care and by so doing, it has shown a willingness to destroy the health of a nation that can only lead to its death. If ever there was a time for preventative medicine it is now.  The country needs a cure and that cure must come in November.

HEALTH CARE: CALL CONGRESS AND SAY NO!!!!

THIS IS IT! STOP OBAMACARE! CALL CONGRESS NOW! USE THE NUMBERS BELOW!

Monday, March 15, 2010

"SPREAD THE WEALTH FOR HEALTH!"

Whatever it takes!  That's the Democratic plan on passing health care, forcing it through Congress and on to the Presidents desk for signing into law.  No obstacle is too big.  If there is a question about Constitutional legality, ignore it! If you have a problem with congressional procedure, make new rules to pass it!  If someone complains about special deals to certain states, offer it to all states!  Pull out all the stops, cancel any overseas trips, find as many people as you can with tales of health coverage tragedy to use as props and display them for all America to see.  Tug at the heartstrings, invoke a sense of moral duty, demonize the insurance industry. Forget about CBO scores, that can be manipulated, nobody understands them anyway. Besides, they can only score on what we give them and what we give them won't be what we settle on. We can "fix" it! This is going to be HISTORIC!  Spread the word, send out the cry, "SPREAD THE WEALTH FOR HEALTH!"

America your voice doesn't count anymore. You've sent messages, you've sent letters, you've burned up phone lines, you have even expressed your feelings at elections.  All to no avail.  The response from Democrats and the President has been..."Yes, we know the majority of you are against it as a whole but trust us. There are individual items you will like and it will grow on you."  They're right about the growing part. For sure it will grow and grow and grow. Just like a tumor and it will spread and you'll never get rid of it. Too bad for us that the "Lemon Law" for cars doesn't apply to health care legislation. If ever there was a lemon this bill is it.

UPDATE:  "find as many people as you can with tales of health coverage tragedy to use as props"
President Obama used an Ohio woman stricken with cancer as an example of the sorry state of health care.
However the woman might not be in as bad a position as the President makes it out to be.
Fox News reports: Natoma Canfield, the cancer-stricken woman who has become a centerpiece of President Obama's push for health care reform, will not lose her home over her medical bills and will probably qualify for financial aid, a top official at the Cleveland medical center treating her told FoxNews.com.

Though Canfield's sister Connie Anderson said her sibling is afraid she'll lose her house and Obama warned at an Ohio rally Monday that the patient is "racked with worry" about the cost of tests and treatment, she is already being screened for financial help.

Lyman Sornberger, executive director of patient financial services at the Cleveland Clinic, said "all indications" at the outset are that she will be considered for assistance.

"She may be eligible for state Medicaid ... and/or she will be eligible for charity (care) of some form or type. ... In my personal opinion, she will be eligible for something," he said, adding that Canfield should not be worried about losing her home.

"Cleveland Clinic will not put a lien on her home," he said.

HEALTH CARE EXOPSES DEMOCRATS CONTEMPT FOR AMERICA!

In the court of public opinion the Democrats have lost on the health care debate. They can claim that they had no bipartisan support from Republicans, only obstructionist tactics but it's not true. President Obama has always had bipartisan support on the health care issue.  The problem is simply that the support stems from the electorate and not members of Congress. The debate has crossed over into party affiliation, banding Republicans, Democrats, and Independents together in voicing their opposition to the current legislation and "fixes" before Congress today. A resounding defeat in the Massachusetts Senate election to fill the late Ted Kennedy's seat to Republican Scott Brown should have been enough to drive the message home. At that time hopes for the death of this bill looked good especially since the Massachusetts election no longer gave the Senate a filibuster proof majority.  The country had great hopes that the Administration would now turn their attention to the urgent matter of restoring the economy and creating meaningful legislation that would help put Americans back to work.  It is now approaching the end of the first quarter in 2010,  the Easter break for Congress is approaching and every bit of the Obama machine is still hard at work, desperately trying to salvage health care and ram it down the throats of Americans who loudly proclaim they want no part of this vile, crooked and constitutionally illegal legislation.  Their voices seem not to matter to the President or the leaders in both houses of Congress.  It has now become a battle over ideology.  Big Government verses the will of the people and a free market system. Never before has legislation of this magnitude, opposed by so many, been handled in such underhanded ways by a party in power. Closed door meetings, payoffs, special interest exceptions, inclusions, exclusions, all meant to sway a handful of politicians to vote yes.  It's hard to tell if those Democrats opposed are standing on principal or waiting for a bigger piece of the pie.

The fate and future of this country rests in the hands of an arrogant and egotistical group that refuses to acknowledge the wishes of a majority they represent. Choosing instead to forge ahead with an ill guided and twisted mentality that they know whats best, even resorting to questionable, if not illegal procedures to fulfill their vision and by-passing any obstacle by simply making up new rules to the game as they go along.

The struggling efforts by Democrats to find  yea votes among themselves is proven to be a much harder task than Pelosi envisioned.  In desperation she has turned to the House Rules Committee Chair, Louise Slaughter who has the perfect solution.  She proposes to bypass the vote problem by presenting a new rule which will simply "deem" the Senate bill as passed once the House agrees on the compromise measure that will have the "fixes" they want in the Senate version.  Pelosi is said to be seriously considering the "Slaughter Solution" as an option.  That is either the height of arrogance or desperation, probably both. With liberal Democrats they go hand in hand.  When desperation sets in their arrogance takes over and they throw rules and regulations out the window choosing instead to make up their own, ignoring such insignificant facts as to whether their actions are even allowed by the Constitution. In this instance they have shown that they themselves are not confident enough they have written good legislation, instead they would resort to slick tricks and maneuvering to get around rules and procedures that might prevent them from achieving their goal.

Every day Americans see this sorry drama unfolding on the television news and talk radio and their anger builds toward the leadership in Washington. They see the country drifting toward socialism. They fear the Government passing laws against majority opinion that take away personal rights and freedoms and seek control of the economy.  Their myopic vision for America is wrong and they continually reject the notion that those opposed are nothing more than an insignificant group of malcontents shouting slogans such as "We want to take our country back!" For the life of them they simply cannot understand how these people come up with such ridiculous notions.  The Democrats have lusted for power and control for so long that now that they have it they have completely forgotten who gave it to them and under what guidelines that power is given. They have become the child that tears into the package to get the contents and ignores the sticker clearly posted on the front that states "Read Directions First Before Opening."

"THE PACIFIC" ON HBO

Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg have teamed up once again to bring us a great "docudrama" of WWII.

Done in the same style and passion as "Band Of Brothers", "THE PACIFIC"  is the the story of the United States Marines in the war against Japan. It will focus on the true stories of three Marines, the battles they engaged in and what they went through during this horrendous conflict.  This 10 part mini series will give those who watch a realistic view of the obstacles and hardships the Marines faced, what they gave for their country, and what they gave for each other.  As Spielberg puts it. "...it's brutal, it's honest and it's right their in your face...as it was for them."  I would like to thank all those involved for putting this story on the screen.  As WWII vets numbers dwindle, Americans should never forget the sacrifice they made for our country.

For those interested, I have included a brief trailer and below that a link to a 20 minute video which documents the making of the series.

THE ACLU HASN'T A-CLU(E)

The no clue ACLU is at it again. This time they're weighing in on the possibility of a White House decision to revert back to military tribunals for 9/11 suspects in hope of gaining Congressional approval for the closing of Guantanamo.  The executive director of the ACLU, Anthony D. Romero has said, "If this stunning reversal comes to pass, President Obama will deal a death blow to his own Justice Department, not to mention American values. The military commissions system is incapable of handling complicated terrorism cases."

Death blow to the Justice Department?  That might not be such a bad idea but a death blow to American values and a military incapable of handling complicated terror cases is simply ludicrous.  Those are the words from a ticked off radical leftist group claiming to represent mainstream America.  The only values the ACLU wants to protect are their own. These trials would put them in the spotlight, on the big stage, challenging everything prosecutors had and the the way it was obtained in order to win freedom for the accused.  They have been waiting years for this moment and now it may slip away.

Their only recourse is to attack the mentality of our military and the military system of justice. Why? Because they know all their whiny little motions and objections that are accepted in civilian court won't be tolerated or given the same weight in the military tribunal. The trial will be run in an orderly fashion. That's not to say that the trials will be short and quick but it won't be the circus and drama that the ACLU is searching for in civilian court of law.  The outrage expressed by them is typical of the organization.  If the majority of Americans are for it, the ACLU is against it.

If there is anything complicated about trying terrorists, it is only because the Obama Administration has made it so. It's obvious they realize that now, though they would never admit it, and are looking once again for compromise.  Terrorists should and must be treated as enemy combatants in the War On Terrorism. That said, they should be held in Guantanamo no matter when and where they are captured, "water-boarded" sufficiently, then moved into the military court system to be tried and fried. That's not complicated. What is complicated is being an organization claiming to represent the view of America and having no clue as to what that view is.

UPDATE: 03/07/2010
A full-page ad in Sunday's New York Times left no doubt as to how the American Civil Liberties Union feels about the possibility of the president reversing the decision to send Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his alleged co-conspirators to civilian court.

"What will it be Mr. President?" the ad asks in boldfaced type. "Change or more of the Same?"
In the middle of those words are four photos that show Obama's face morphing into Bush's

They call it the ultimate liberal left insult to Obama.  I personally think it's a rather nice compliment.

JUST CALL ME GOOD NEWS HARRY!

Senator Harry Reid, Senate Majority LeaderImage via Wikipedia
After all the bad news Democrats have been facing lately in the public opinion polls Harry Reid jumped at the chance to tell America some really good news. "Today is a big day in America. Only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, which is really good," Reid said Friday on the Senate floor.  What an idiot!  I guess he'll be clarifying those remarks on the Sunday talk shows.  Right now he is hard at work drafting a public apology..."If you're one of the 36,000 who lost your job, I did not mean that it was really good news, I meant that it was good news because we thought there would be more of you. We in the Democratic Congress feel your pain."  Face it Harry, you truly are the gift that keeps on giving.

Meanwhile on the other side, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer was saying that he would take 36,000 job losses any day of the week. He noted that in February 2009, the country lost 700,000 jobs, and that the past month's report shows job losses are slowing.  Someone needs to point out to Steny that when you don't have a whole lot of people left to layoff your numbers naturally go down. Hoyer ended his comments on the upbeat, "Nevertheless, millions of Americans remain out of work, and Congress will continue to focus on creating jobs." He feels their pain too but right now there is this little annoying thing called health care that has them preoccupied.  It's simply a matter of priorities but just to show you they have the best of intentions, they put together a little "jobs bill" that they hope makes it to the President's desk. In it they hope to spur job growth by offering business tax incentives for hiring unemployed workers.  Business would gladly take them up on it if only they had actual work for people to do.

WINDOW TO THE FUTURE OF HEALTH CARE

Last year the U.S. Postal Service lost 3.8 billion dollars.  This year they will report a 7 billion dollar loss.  Postmaster General John Potter said that they are struggling financially and that they are trying to find ways to get out of the red without resorting to using taxpayer dollars. In 2 years 11 billion in taxpayer dollars was lost.  Potter is expected to announce the possibility of stopping Saturday service and the raising of postal rates to help correct the problem.  He did not say how many BILLIONS would be saved.

This provides an open window with a perfect view of what Americans can expect in the future with a government run health care plan.  Does anyone in their right mind believe that the government can effectively run anything? The current cost for the Obama/Democratic Health Plan is 1 TRILLION dollars! With that they say they can cover some 30 million uninsured, keep your premiums low and provide greater service and access. They want you to believe that the plan will be deficit neutral and will pay for itself. In order to do that someone will be taxed and one way or another that means you and just like the Postal Service you can be sure that the 1 Trillion dollars will soon be 10 Trillion dollars and in order to keep everything in line your premiums will go up and your services and access will be cut. No more Saturday delivery and higher prices paid on postage, it's the same story.

Right now every government run program, Social Security, Medicare, Postal Service, you name it, is riding on the backs of hard working Americans and  none of them are in the black. Now the Democrats are going to force Americans to carry a heavier load by stacking on Health Care. Sooner or later our backs will break under the financial stress.  All indicators show that the majority of Americans are opposed to this legislation but the Democrats are pushing ahead totally ignoring those they represent and totally ignoring their record from the past and present. The government is always good at passing programs of social change but they are complete failures when it comes to implementation and management.  Once again the call must go out and America needs to flood the phone lines to Congress.  Let these people know we don't need them to tell us what is good for us and the country!  It's our job to tell them, it's their job to listen!  Do it now before the window closes.

NANCY PELOSI: REPUBLICAN "MOLE" OR JUST STUPID?

As a Conservative and one who pretty much disagrees with Nancy Pelosi on everything, I had a passing thought.  What if the House Speaker is secretly working for the Republicans, trying to help them regain their majority in Congress in 2010?

Look at some basic facts.  Every major issue of concern with the American people, be it the War On Terror, national security, environmental legislation, military spending, or health care, she has taken the exact opposite position in regards to what polling data shows and what the people want.  Ever since Obama took office her popularity has sunk in the eyes of the public and behind the scenes Democrats cringe every time she gets in front of the microphone and camera.

Her public announcement Sunday, calling on Democrats to pass health care legislation without bipartisan support may have confirmed my suspicions.

"Lawmakers sometimes must enact policies that, even if unpopular at the moment, will help the public. We're not here just to self-perpetuate our service in Congress," she said. "We're here to do the job for the American people."

That pretty much translates into, go ahead and push a disastrously bad piece of legislation down the throats of Americans and just forget about your re-election possibilities. You'll be taken care of in the unemployment line.  That statement alone has her admitting that the bill is unpopular yet she continued in her deranged rationality by saying...

"It took courage for Congress to pass Social Security and Medicare, which eventually became highly popular, and many of the same forces that were at work decades ago are at work again against this bill."

Besides the fact that a majority of Americans know that those two government programs are the worst examples of government mismanagement, bankrupting our country now, they are also the classic example for not passing another major social program involving Washington's oversight. She has completely omitted, or forgot that those programs were done with bipartisan support!  As for them being popular with Americans? It's more like they are now a necessary evil we must endure. They truly are "too big to fail".

So, here we have Pelosi calling for wholesale career destruction by Congressional Democrats as well as her recent refusal to address the Charlie Rangel issue, added to the numerous times she has tried to cut funds to our military, undermined their efforts in the war, sided with the terrorists in how they are handled after capture and falsely claiming publicly that the CIA has lied to her, Congress, and the American people. This is the voice of Democratic leadership going into 2010. One has to wonder if the voice is going down in flames. A crash and burn strategy developed by evil Republicans in the dark halls and bathrooms of Congress. Have they actually gotten to Nancy?  Convinced her to take her liberal rants to new levels. Surely she couldn't think up all this on her own.  Then again maybe it is what it is.  Just an out of touch, over the edge liberal, spouting off mindless drivel to America.

As far as Nancy being a Republican "mole" in the Democrats camp?  I couldn't say for sure that she is but it would be entertaining and you know many moderate Democrats must be wondering the same.  A more accurate assessment may be that from her plain stupidity she unwittingly is giving support to the GOP. That being said, keep up the good work Nancy!
